- Shipbuilding is one of Korea’s leading export industries, and DSME is exporting over 90% of its annual sales. Hence, the profit structure is sensitive to the fluctuation of foreign currency exchange rate. - For more effective managing of exchange rate, DSME chose to implement exchange rate hedge policies. 100% of the payment receiving in foreign currencies other than the commission and the material cost are subject to being hedged. - Even during drastic currency fluctuation, the corporation maintains its hedge policy. In taking advantage of the corporation’s 2 to 3 year long-term grace period, the company is optimizing its management support by maintaining low cost of the exchange rate gained from the rate’s favorable trend. - Monthly balance of foreign currency hedged is presented the “IR Presentation” posted on IR material on our web site.
